The interview process for a graduate position at Guidewire began with a Codility online assessment. One candidate mentioned two questions: an easy string manipulation problem and a more difficult problem solvable with recursion or DFS. Another candidate for a Graduate Java Support role reported four questions: string manipulation, math logic-based, finding an error in code (easy), and a standard SQL question. Specific coding questions included returning an array of 'n' unique integers that sum to 0, and returning the minimum cost of making a string contain only unique characters. Following the online assessment, there was an online technical interview conducted over a Zoom call where the interviewer discussed theory and asked the candidate to write some code. Successful candidates then proceeded to an "onsite day" which involved multiple assessments. One candidate who reached the onsite stage ultimately accepted another offer, finding the number of assessments for a graduate role to be excessive, but noted that Guidewire clearly gets the demand for such a process. Preparation for the interview included solving around 150 LeetCode questions over four months, with a recommendation to focus on easy Array and String questions.
