The GreyOrange recruitment process for the SDET role involved three rounds.
Round 1: Online Assessment (OA)
This round consisted of 10-15 MCQs based on Object-Oriented Programming in Java and one simple coding question, also in Java.
Round 2: Technical Interview
This round focused heavily on CS fundamentals. Questions included: Difference between C and C++, Difference between Machine Learning and Deep Learning, Define OOP and its types, Explain the difference between linked list and array, Define enumeration, What to do to check if a company's telephone is working, Difference between primitive and dynamic data types, Difference between function overriding and overloading. Two coding questions were asked: "Check if the given string is palindrome or not" and "Check whether an input year is a leap year". The interviewer asked 25-30 questions in about 35 minutes.
Round 3: Technical Interview
The interviewer noted that the candidate's expertise was C++ while the company predominantly works with Python. Questions included: Explain Software Development Life Cycle, Explain waterfall model, Difference between SQL and MySQL. Other CS fundamental questions were also asked. Coding question 1 was "Print all the subsequences of a given string of length 2". Another coding question was asked but not remembered. The interviewer also inquired about experience with the Linux operating system, asking for a few Linux commands and some used for string manipulation. The candidate indicated not being able to answer 2-3 questions in this round.
