This candidate was shortlisted for both Software and Quant profiles at Graviton and opted for the Quant profile in the first round. The interview experience was described as "amazing" despite not receiving an offer.
Round 1: The interviewer asked a question about the linearity of expectation based on a random number generator. The candidate struggled to find a solution for about 20 minutes.
Round 2: Another interviewer joined and asked questions on OS memory management, specifically discussing Paging, memory management in one-level paging, how to find memory size in two-level paging, apt page size, and fragmentations. The candidate was able to answer most of these questions.
Round 3: A third interviewer inquired about DSA skills and then presented a linked list problem. The candidate initially struggled but later devised a solution, although they had difficulty explaining the algorithm. They were then asked to code the solution in a shared document, which they did correctly.
Round 4: The interviewer asked a standard Dynamic Programming (DP) question, which the candidate solved and coded within 15 minutes.
Round 5: This was a quant interview and involved a problem that was a mix of quant and algorithms. The candidate explained a naive O(n²) solution and then worked towards an optimized solution using a divide and conquer approach, which the interviewer confirmed. The candidate ultimately reached the final solution at the last minute of the round. The primary reason for not receiving an offer was the candidate giving negative signals about joining due to other interview commitments.
