This experience was for a Software Engineer, AVP position in Bangalore, with over 10 years of experience. The recruiter initiated contact.
This round covered an introduction about the company, the candidate's skill set, self-introduction, projects, roles/responsibilities, and salary expectations. A fixed CTC was offered (excluding variables and benefits).
This was described as a single, comprehensive evaluation round. It covered a wide range of topics:
Surprisingly, no Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA) questions were asked. The interviewers focused heavily on "memory-based" questions, such as features in specific Java versions and improvements in different Java versions. The candidate struggled with some of these, and the interviewers asked follow-up questions on the ones not answered. The candidate felt that one could crack the interview if the entire theory was memorized. There were also reported issues with network disconnection from the interviewers' end, which led to finger-pointing and pressure for quick answers.
The candidate did not get to this stage as they were eliminated in the technical round.
Overall Experience: The candidate found the technical round challenging due to the focus on detailed, memory-based Java knowledge and the demanding interview environment. The outcome was a rejection.
