This experience details the journey to landing an SDE role with a ₹23 LPA offer. The process began with an Online Assessment (OA) which had three questions, described as easy and medium level, focusing on array-based and tree-based problems. The time limit was 1 hour, which the candidate found sufficient with practice.
Following the OA, there were three in-person technical interview rounds.
Technical Round 1 was primarily focused on Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA) and core concepts. Questions revolved around time complexity calculation and optimization, different data structures applicable to problems, and core skills in Java, Spring Boot, and SQL queries (including writing one SQL query).
Technical Round 2 was fully dedicated to System Design. The candidate was asked to design a system, specifically using a pub-sub model, and was presented with scenarios to adapt the system design based on changes.
Technical Round 3 was described as a managerial-plus-technical round, primarily evaluating the candidate's interest and skills in AI technologies, Machine Learning, and Deep Learning. Scenarios were given to assess the candidate's approach to training models and algorithms. This round also evaluated how the candidate pursued upskilling in their areas of interest.
Finally, there were two HR rounds: one with a Director and one with an HR representative. The Director round focused on understanding the candidate's thought process, how working hours were spent, spare time activities, and overall culture fit. The HR round was more traditional.
Tips from the candidate include having a solid understanding of DSA, system design, and microservices, as these are trending in organizations.
