Topics Asked: Data Structures, Algorithms, SQL, System Design, Projects, Tech Stack, Probability
The process started with an Online Test conducted on HackerRank. There were four questions: one simple SQL query and three DSA problems. The DSA questions included one on a binary string (greedy approach), one on DP with the sieve algorithm, and a straightforward BFS variation. The candidate solved two DSA questions completely and one partially but couldn't solve the easy SQL query, yet was shortlisted out of 1200 students.
The first Technical Interview (not explicitly numbered, but implied as the round after OA) involved the interviewer introducing themselves, followed by the candidate's introduction. Questions included explaining how to search for a target in an array and a probability question about drawing two consecutive red balls from a box.
The second Technical Interview (30-35 mins) began with an introduction and discussion about the candidate's projects and tech stack. The interviewer noted a lack of cloud-based projects. This round then moved to system design, where the candidate was asked to design an application similar to YouTube. Peers reported being asked to design WhatsApp and Flipkart.
