The hiring process for an intern position at GE (General Electric, relevant to GE Vernova's digital segment) began with a campus drive in September 2021.
Stage 1 (Written Test): This elimination round was conducted on the CoCubes platform. It comprised two parts: an Online Aptitude Assessment (50 minutes, 50 questions covering quantitative aptitude, logical reasoning, and English) and a Coding Assessment (45 minutes, 2 questions). The coding questions included an easy one about removing every alternate digit from an integer and a medium-tough string-based question (possibly Dynamic Programming related). Out of 391 applicants, 40 were shortlisted.
Stage 2 (Technical Interview): This round was held on Microsoft Teams and lasted 15-18 minutes. The interviewer was polite and started with the candidate's introduction. The candidate provided an in-depth explanation of three projects for about 10 minutes, avoiding counter-questions due to thoroughness. Personal interests, like solving Rubik's cubes, were also discussed, which impressed the interviewer. Questions were asked about challenges faced in projects and how the internship would be beneficial. 15 out of 24 students proceeded to the HR round.
Stage 3 (HR Round): Conducted by a Senior TA Manager, this round lasted approximately 42 minutes. It started with an introduction and then delved into challenges faced in projects and the candidate's expectations from the internship. A key question was "Why GE?", to which the candidate responded by highlighting advantages mentioned in a prior company presentation. The interviewer responded positively to the answers. The results were announced on the same day, with 13 out of 15 candidates, including the interviewee, being selected.
