This interview experience for a Developer role at Fidelity Investments involved three rounds.
Round 1: Online Test
Conducted on HirePro, the test included sections on aptitude, English, and programming and computer science-related MCQs. There were three programming questions: constructing a BST and printing its boundary traversal, a dynamic programming question similar to 0-1 Knapsack requiring space reduction (candidate passed 75% of test cases), and an array partitioning question similar to Quick sort.
Round 2: Technical Round
The interviewer started with "Tell me about yourself." Project discussions lasted around 20 minutes. The interviewer posed tough OS questions on demand paging and scheduling algorithms, to which the candidate admitted not being fully prepared. SQL queries based on a given situation were asked, along with basic networking questions. The candidate was asked to code Binary Search and Quicksort and explain them. OOPS concepts like abstract classes and multiple inheritance were also discussed. Android development questions were asked because of a basic Android project on the resume.
Round 3: HR Round
This round covered typical HR questions: "How was my day?", family background, dream company, favorite novels/authors, expectations from the company, what was the best thing learned so far, what to do if a team member doesn't meet expectations, role model, and "Why Fidelity?". After two months, the candidate received a selection email for a Developer position.
