The candidate, a third-year CSE student, cleared the Fidelity Investments interview for their LEAP program internship. Fidelity visited the campus for its On-Campus drive, offering a PPO based on internship performance. The process involved an Online Assessment, Technical Round, and HR Round. There was a no-backlog policy and an 8.0+ CGPA requirement.
Round 1: Online Assessment (OA)
The OA was straightforward with three sections. The Verbal Ability section had 10 MCQs on general verbal reasoning (sentence reordering, synonyms/antonyms) with 10 minutes allocated. The Technical MCQs section (20-25 mins) covered CS fundamentals like OS, DBMS, CN, OOPs, DSA basics, and flowchart/pseudocode output questions, rated as easy. The final section was a DSA coding round with 2 questions to be solved in 1 hour, also rated as easy. The first coding question was a variation of finding the largest prime number in a string, where all prime numbers formed from the string had to be listed. The second question was a pattern-finding problem involving transforming words based on a given list.
Round 2: Technical Round
This round lasted about 35 minutes, focusing entirely on the candidate's resume. The interviewer thoroughly questioned each project and mentioned technologies, including internal working details. No separate DSA or OOPs questions were asked, but two SQL queries based on a project scenario were required. The advice given was to be very precise and confident about resume content.
Round 3: HR Round
This round was described as "chill," focusing on behavioral, social, and interpersonal skills rather than technical aspects. It was short, lasting about 10-15 minutes. Resume grilling occurred, but without technical questions.
