The selection process comprised six rounds.
Round 1: Aptitude based MCQ (Online, 30 minutes)
This round covered basic coding, aptitude, core concepts of Java, data structures, and algorithms. The candidate cleared it successfully.
Round 2: Coding Assessment (Online, 180 minutes)
Candidates had to solve 3 EPAM coding questions related to core concepts like arrays, stacks, queues, linked lists, and graphs. Languages allowed were Java, C++, Python. This round also included MCQ questions on Java, SQL, DBMS, and pseudocodes. Webcam proctoring was mandatory. The coding questions were typically one easy (40 mins, 20 marks), one medium (50 mins, 30 marks), and one hard (60 mins, 50 marks).
Round 3: Collaborative Discussion (GD Round) (Offline)
The topic for discussion was "Why quality of code is important in Software Development". In a group of 17, 11 cleared this round.
Round 4: Technical Interview 1 (Offline)
Started with self-introduction. The interviewer asked the candidate to write three codes: one previously asked in the coding round, a Password Validator (string length 20-40 characters), and Binary Search. Further questions included Sorting Algorithms and their time complexity, OOP concepts (explanation, difference between overriding and overloading, use of overloading, inheritance, String mutability, Exception Handling, try & catch block, Multithreading implementation).
Round 5: Technical Interview 2 (Offline)
The interviewer asked about family and then moved to Data Structures and Algorithms. A coding question was given: sort only the multiples of 5 in descending order in a random array and discuss its time complexity. Also, asked about the time complexity of finding an element if the index is given. This round lasted 45-50 minutes.
Round 6: HR Interview (Offline)
Questions were about projects and the candidate's role, internships and contributions, and other resume-based queries.
