This interview process for a Software Developer role at Dover India consisted of 4 rounds as part of an on-campus placement.
Round 1: Online Test
This round comprised 60 MCQ questions. The questions primarily focused on fundamental concepts of Operating Systems (OS), Database Management Systems (DBMS), and pseudocode. Additionally, there was a section on Quantitative Aptitude.
Round 2: Virtual Interview (Technical)
The interviewer asked a DSA string question: given a string with an underscore somewhere, remove the underscore and capitalize the next character (e.g., convert "Aryan_sharma" to "AryanSharma"). Another question involved permutation and combination: form a 6-letter word where 2 letters are digits and the other 4 are alphabets, with repetition allowed. Two SQL queries were also asked: one to enter data into MongoDB and another to find names starting with "ary". The interviewer then delved into the candidate's project, asking what happens if the user cannot find data in the database, what the express framework would return in such a condition, and which model was used to make the project.
Round 3: Manager Round (Technical)
Despite being a manager round, this round also included a DSA problem. The interviewer asked to perform basic string functions such as reversing a string. Further questions included how to find the ASCII value of a character in a string and how to convert a character to an integer. Other basic string functions were also discussed.
Round 4: HR Round
The final round was a standard HR interview. Questions included: "Where do you see yourself in 5 years?", "Why do you want to work in this company?", and "What are your strengths and weaknesses?".
