The candidate, with 2.5 years of experience as an SDE-2, applied for an open role at DevRev.
The process began with a **Phone Call with a Recruiter**, where the company's activities were explained, and the recruiter inquired about the candidate's current work experience. A unique requirement was to write a story of at least 500 words about their journey so far, which had to adhere to the rule to avoid elimination.
After submitting the story, the candidate received a link for the **Online Assessment (OA)**. This 1.5-2 hour test, conducted on the CodeSignal platform, consisted of three easy/medium level DSA questions and a few easy Computer Science MCQs. The candidate completed the test well within time and was confident about qualifying.
The next round was **Round 1 (1 hour 20 minutes) - DSA + Coding + Projects**. The interviewer, having prior experience with the candidate's previous company, spent 30 minutes asking in-depth questions about the projects listed on the resume. Following this, a coding problem was given on the CodeSignal platform: a LeetCode Hard question titled "Design In-Memory File System", specifically requiring the implementation of `ls` and `mkdir/create` functions. The candidate had encountered and solved this problem before, allowing for an easy implementation during the interview. While any language was permitted, C++ was expected due to the candidate's work experience. The round was successful.
A few days later, the recruiter scheduled the next round. However, the candidate received a very good offer from another company and decided to terminate the interview process with DevRev.
