This off-campus opportunity for an Applied AI Intern involved a four-round online assessment process, with each round being eliminatory.
Round 1: Codesignal Online Assessment was a proctored test featuring easy to medium level questions comparable to Leetcode.
Round 2: Technical Interview 1 lasted one hour. It commenced with introductions and a discussion of hobbies and interests, followed by an overview of the candidate's projects. Multiple questions were then asked from Computer Fundamentals, including Operating Systems, DBMS (covering SQL vs NoSQL, types, and examples of NoSQL databases), and OOPS (including pillars of OOPS and types of inheritance). The second half of the interview involved two standard DSA questions: "Ugly numbers" and "Word Break II". The candidate successfully solved these within 30 minutes, discussing brute, better, and optimal approaches along with time and space complexity.
Round 3: Technical Interview 2 also lasted one hour and began with introductions, hobbies, and project discussions. It was noted that having projects related to LLMs, GenAI, and NLP was beneficial. Key OOPS concepts were discussed, such as the problems OOPS solves and the "Diamond Problem" in OOPS. Finally, two standard DSA questions were asked: "Two Sum" and "Palindromic Substrings". The candidate discussed and implemented brute and optimal solutions for "Two Sum" with complexity analysis. For "Palindromic Substrings," only the brute force solution was implemented before time ran out, though the DP solution was explained orally.
Round 4: Cultural Fit Interview was a 30-minute online round.
