Rounds: 3 rounds (Online Test, Technical Round 1, Technical Round 2)
Topics Asked: Data Structures (Merge Sort), Algorithms, Projects (Web Development, DSA based), APIs, Debugging, Behavioral (working on different technologies, time zones, relocation)
The process started with an online test. There were no specific resume shortlisting criteria, and all branches were eligible with a CGPA cutoff of 7. The online test on HackerEarth consisted of 3 coding questions, with 90 minutes duration.
Round 1 (Technical): This round involved two interviewers. It began with "Tell us about yourself." The candidate focused on projects they were confident about. Questions were asked about algorithms known, specifically sorting algorithms. The candidate explained Merge Sort and was asked to code it on an online C++ compiler. Despite a runtime error, the interviewers offered to debug or move on. They also delved into project details, such as fetching and filtering data from APIs, and the rationale behind using specific methods.
Round 2 (Technical + HR): In this round, no coding questions were asked. The questions were primarily behavioral and situational, such as, "Let's suppose you are not interested to work on a technology which you are told to work on, what would you do?" and "Would you be comfortable in working different time zones and moving to different cities?" The candidate emphasized a diplomatic approach to such questions.
Overall Experience & Tips: The candidate had 3 projects (2 web dev, 1 DSA based) and 1 internship. Key advice was to thoroughly know everything mentioned on the resume and prepare for "why" questions regarding framework choices.
