The hiring process for the SDE - I role at HashedIn by Deloitte started with an Online Assessment (OA) of 90 minutes. This round consisted of three coding questions: one easy and two medium LeetCode-type problems. A unique aspect was the absence of test cases to check code correctness; candidates had to use custom test cases and identify edge cases before submission.
The next day, shortlisted candidates moved to the Technical Interview. This round began with an introduction, including questions about passion and extracurricular activities. Core subjects like OOPS, C++, and DBMS were covered. Specific questions included "Diamond inheritance in C++", "Types of Joins in SQL", "Virtual Constructor concept", and an SQL query to find the second largest element in a table.
A System Design question was also part of this round, requiring the candidate to design a high-level Flipkart-type application. This involved creating API call flow diagrams and a database schema with foreign key references, followed by questions on database normalization and a SQL query based on the designed tables. The final round was described as a "chill" HR Round, focusing on resume projects (purpose, technical details), casual questions (e.g., "CR7 vs Messi"), family background, personal interests, and situational questions like "What would you do if you received ₹10 crore today?".
