Dassault Systèmes conducted on-campus recruitment in September 2024.
Round 1 (General Aptitude + Coding - 1 hour 30 minutes): Approximately 250 students appeared. The total duration was 1.5 hours. The number of questions varied, but for this candidate, there were 54 aptitude questions and 4 coding questions. There were no separate sections, and each question had a timer. Marking scheme: +1 for easy, +2 for medium, and -0.25 for incorrect answers. Aptitude topics included word problems, age, ratio & proportion, profit and loss, number & letter series, blood relations, pipes and cisterns, directions, logical puzzles, time and work, data sufficiency & syllogism, and English grammar. The coding section had 2 easy, 1 medium, and 1 difficult question. Out of 250 students, 40 were selected for Round 2.
Round 2 (Technical Interview - 45 minutes): Started with a self-introduction. The interviewer asked 1-2 basic questions from the resume. A key question was to "Implement polymorphism by writing a code on paper." The candidate explained runtime polymorphism using the `virtual` keyword, and the interviewer presented special cases for `virtual` keyword output. Further questions covered abstraction and the use of the `virtual` keyword. The interviewer also asked about a virtual internship at JP Morgan Chase & Co. and the implementation of a Weather project mentioned on the resume, including technologies used, fetching real-time data with an API, and data format. Questions on MySQL CRUD operations and database normal forms (1NF, 2NF, 3NF) were also asked. A surprising question was "What kind of company would you like to work for?", which the candidate answered by focusing on companies using emerging technologies to solve real-world problems.
The candidate received a full-time Internship + PPO offer at Dassault Systèmes starting January 2025.
