The interview process for the SWE-1 role at Consultadd consisted of four rounds.
Round 1 (Screening Round)
This round lasted 1 hour and involved 2 DSA questions. The questions were: 1) "You are given a binary string, find the maximum number of substrings containing '011' or '100' when only a single bit is flipped." 2) "You are given a 4-digit number in string format, find the maximum sum of two numbers, if two numbers are first constructed using the 4-digit number string (while constructing a two-digit number, front zeroes can be avoided while adding)."
Round 2 (Technical Round 1)
This round lasted 1 hour and involved in-depth questions related to DBMS, Java, and other core subjects. The candidate was asked to code about an AVL tree and write a class in Java where all OOPs concepts were used. Another easy-medium LeetCode question was asked (not remembered), and an easy SQL query.
Round 3 (Technical Round 2)
This 30-minute round again started with in-depth questions on Core subjects and DSA. A medium-level SQL query with multiple joins was asked. The "Next Permutation" question was asked with a slight change, involving duplicates in the array. A bit of Computer Networks was also covered, specifically asking about the protocols of the Transport layer.
Round 4 (Managerial Round)
This was a 15-minute round with a brief discussion about situational questions and personal information. The candidate was also given an easy SQL query to write the output for.
The candidate was selected for the SWE-1 role.
