This experience details an on-campus recruitment drive by General Electric at VIT in 2022.
Round 1: Technical Round and MCQ
This round had two sections. The MCQ section lasted 50 minutes and included 20 easy to medium Technical MCQs (basic CS knowledge), 10 easy to medium Aptitude MCQs, and 10 easy to medium Verbal MCQs. The coding section had two questions from arrays, of medium difficulty, to be solved in 40 minutes. The candidate noted they were solvable within the time frame. 93 students were shortlisted for the next round.
Round 2: Technical Interview
This round was 30 minutes long. Questions included: "Tell me about yourself". As the candidate mentioned data analytics, they were asked to rate their data analytics skills out of 10. A simple two-for-loop code was given, and the candidate was asked for its time complexity. The interviewer also asked about Binary Search Trees and to write code for checking if a tree is a Binary Search Tree. A question on "deadlock in OS" and a real-life example was also posed. The interviewer was helpful when the candidate struggled.
Round 3: HR Round
This was the final round. The interviewer was described as "very cool". Questions included a standard introduction ("tell me about yourself"), discussion on the functionality of the candidate's projects, and hobbies.
