This candidate interviewed for a Summer Analyst Intern position at Citi during an on-campus drive in 2022 while in their third year. The entire process took three days.
1. ROUND 1: Online Assessment This round included MCQs on Aptitude (work and time, probability, permutations and combinations, percentages, ages, profit, loss), Logical Reasoning (patterns and logic-based concepts), and Verbal Reasoning (Antonyms, synonyms, prepositions, passages). The questions were generally easy, though speed was important for aptitude. The coding section had two questions of easy to medium level, including finding the GCD of an array and finding the longest bitonic subsequence.
2. ROUND 2: Technical Interview This round lasted about 40 to 45 minutes and was conducted on Zoom. After introductions, the interviewer reviewed the candidate's resume and asked about projects, which were confidently explained. Questions on DBMS included queries on tables and joins. Operating Systems questions covered deadlocks and basic Linux commands. Data structures questions involved topics like the optimal method for sorting an array and finding the conjunction point in a Y-shaped linked list. Additionally, 2-3 questions on graphs and trees were asked, such as how to convert a binary tree to a linked list with a specific condition. A thorough understanding of these subjects was emphasized for success.
3. ROUND 3: HR Interview This interview occurred approximately an hour after the technical round. After introductions, the interviewer asked basic questions about the candidate's projects. Following this, various hypothetical corporate situations were presented, such as how to resolve a team conflict as a team leader. The importance of work-life balance was also discussed. The candidate was able to answer these questions to the interviewer's satisfaction.
Following this round, the candidate was informed of their selection, expressing delight.
