Experience:

Chubb Business Services visited VIT for recruitment for the Trainee Software Engineer role.

Stage 1: HackerRank Online Assessment
The assessment featured five coding problems: 3 Easy-Medium problems and 2 Medium-Hard problems. Key concepts included Arrays, Greedy Approach, Recursion, Graph Traversal (Minimum Cost Path), and HashMaps. The time allotted was 2 hours. The candidate managed to solve 4 out of 5 questions, with partial test cases cleared for the fifth. Students solving 2.5–3 questions were shortlisted.

Stage 2: L1 Technical Interview
This round focused on technical proficiency based on the candidate's introduction and resume. The panel consisted of two interviewers.

Questions:

• DBMS & OOPs: Explained 4 pillars of OOPs with examples. Discussed relational vs. non-relational databases from projects, with examples.
• Projects: Walked through a GitHub repository, cloned and explained the code. Wrote and explained a GET API for a MERN project.
• Certifications: Discussed AWS Cloud Practitioner certification, including cloud models and pricing.

Shortlisted candidates were announced within two days.

Stage 3: L2 Managerial/Behavioral Interview
This round had a panel of five members, with one leading the discussion. While the candidate did not clear this final round, the experience was valuable.
