Experience:

The interview process at Chariot Solutions is designed to be collaborative and respectful of the candidate's time. It typically consists of five main stages.

Round 1: Pre-Screen (30 minutes)
This is a casual chat with someone from the recruiting team. The goal is to get to know each other and determine if Chariot is a good mutual fit.

Round 2: Phone Screen (30-45 minutes)
A member of the technical staff conducts this round. They ask about the candidate's experience and a few technical questions in the programming language or area where the candidate is strongest. Candidates are encouraged to discuss their contributions to projects in detail, explaining the "what, why, and how."

Round 3: Code Test & Mock Consulting Scenario (2 hours)
This round is split into two parts. The Code Test focuses on evaluating how a candidate thinks, codes, and communicates, rather than solving arcane data structures or algorithm puzzles. Candidates have access to relevant documentation (SDKs, APIs) and can choose their operating system (Windows or Linux) and IDE (Intellij CE, Eclipse, Visual Studio Code, etc.). Talking through the thought process is highly encouraged.
The Mock Consulting Scenario simulates a real client engagement. Chariot presents a problem, and the candidate acts as the consultant, asking questions to gather more information. Following this, the candidate presents their understanding of the problem along with a high-level approach and architecture for a solution.

Round 4: Technical Chat with CTO (30 minutes to 1 hour)
The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) engages in a discussion to learn more about the candidate's technical interests, preferred technologies, and the rationale behind technical decisions made on recent projects. This round helps determine the best initial fit for the candidate within the company.

Round 5: Offer (30 minutes to 1 hour)
If successful, the candidate has a chat with the CEO, Mike Rappaport, who is passionate about the company and extends the offer.

Overall experience: The process emphasizes practical problem-solving, communication, and cultural fit, rather than high-pressure LeetCode-style challenges.
