The candidate successfully cleared all four rounds for the Data Engineer role at Celebal Technologies. The entire recruitment process was conducted online, even though it was an on-campus recruitment.
The first round was Resume Shortlisting, emphasizing a clear and concise resume highlighting projects, internships, and relevant skills. The candidate's resume, with Python, SQL, and Cloud-related projects, was well-matched to the role.
The second round was a Technical Assessment, lasting 2 hours. This online test covered both conceptual knowledge and problem-solving. It included 20 Python MCQs (logical and pseudocode-based questions on Python fundamentals), 3 SQL queries (to retrieve and manipulate data), and 2 Python DSA questions. Time management was crucial in this round.
The third round was a Technical Interview, conducted on Microsoft Teams for approximately 30 minutes. The interviewer asked about DBMS concepts, specifically the difference between SQL and NoSQL. Questions were also asked about the projects mentioned in the resume, allowing the candidate to explain their work in detail. The key takeaway was to be thorough with fundamentals and honest about skill levels.
The final round was an HR Round, also on Microsoft Teams, lasting 10-12 minutes. Questions included: "Introduce yourself," "Where is your native place?", "Why do you want to join Celebal?", "Where do you see yourself in 5 years?", "How would you explain technical concepts (like Python/SQL) to a non-technical person?", "Are you willing to relocate?", and "Have you faced any difficulties, and how did you solve them?". The round was conversational, focusing on communication skills and cultural fit.
After a few days, the candidate received an offer for the Data Engineer role in Jaipur. Tips for future aspirants included strengthening fundamentals in Python, SQL, DBMS, and Cloud Computing, practicing SQL queries, being prepared to discuss projects, and being clear and confident during the HR round.
