The recruitment process for Capgemini on-campus placement was described as simple, consisting of four rounds.
Round 1: Aptitude Test & Essay Writing
This round included aptitude questions covering data interpretation, reasoning, and verbal skills. The aptitude section was generally easy, implying a high cut-off. Candidates were advised to complete about 60% of a section before moving on to another, as selection was based on clearing the cut-off in each section. This was followed by an essay writing section, which lasted 30 minutes. Emphasis was placed on avoiding spelling and punctuation mistakes, as the number of backspaces used could negatively impact the score.
Round 2: Technical Round (Output Prediction & Pseudocode)
Results of Round 1 were announced after 30 minutes, with over 90 students shortlisted. This round was technical and had two sections with simple questions like predicting program output and selecting pseudocode for a given output. The questions were straightforward, but the time limit was only 20 minutes, requiring efficient time management. Almost all students who cleared this round moved to the third round.
Round 3: Technical Interview
This round began with the common "Tell me about yourself" question. Interviewers then inquired about projects, with many candidates asked to write a simple program in their preferred language and explain it. Suggested programs included "Check whether the given number is prime or not," "Check whether the given number is Armstrong or not," and "Print all prime numbers in given range." Questions were also asked on subjects, preferred programming languages, and OOPS concepts. The candidate was asked many questions about JAVA.
Round 4: HR Interview
The HR round included questions such as "Tell me about yourself," "Why should we hire you?", and "Why Capgemini?". Candidates were advised to prepare information about the company and recent technologies.
