The process consisted of an Online Assessment, two Technical Interviews and an HR round. The OA had two coding questions and lasted one hour. Questions were based on encryption/decryption using ASCII values and bit manipulation and a pattern-based problem involving mirror and water images. The platform was strictly proctored, and copy-paste actions could trigger alerts. Out of around 35 shortlisted candidates, 9 progressed to the interview rounds. Technical Round 1 focused on core fundamentals, problem-solving and communication. Questions covered JVM, JDK, JRE and Java's platform independence, followed by discussion on the overall approach to developing a project from scratch, including problem analysis, solution evaluation, technology selection and testing. I was also asked to explain Machine Learning in very simple terms, solve questions on reversing a string, number series and patterns, and answer a scenario-based question testing my attitude towards working with less popular technologies. Technical Round 2 was more detailed and heavily resume-driven. I was asked to design an employee management system using OOP concepts, choose suitable data structures and solve related coding scenarios. This was followed by designing an ER diagram, writing SQL queries, discussing SQL vs NoSQL and selecting an appropriate database for different scenarios. Other questions included finding the meeting point of two linked lists, internship questions on Kafka and why it was preferred over simple APIs, and detailed questions about the projects mentioned on my resume, particularly focusing on implementation and technology choices. The HR round was conversational and focused on personality and fit. Questions included feedback on the previous interview rounds, names of the interviewers, internship experience, family background and willingness to relocate to Pune. Overall, the process emphasized strong CS fundamentals, OOP and DBMS/SQL knowledge, problem-solving, detailed project understanding, the ability to justify technology choices and clear communication.
