Detailed experience
Recently, I had the opportunity to interview for the Google STEP internship. I applied through their careers portal at the end of November and initially received a rejection email by the end of December. However, in mid-January 2025, I was unexpectedly contacted by a recruiter who expressed interest in moving forward with my application. The recruiter scheduled a short Google Meet call, lasting about 10-15 minutes. During the call, he asked about my projects, my introduction, and my coding profiles. At the end of the conversation, he informed me that I would have an interview in a week. Seven days later, my interview was scheduled. The interviewer was incredibly kind and calm, which immediately eased my anxiety. Instead of a formal introduction, she simply greeted me warmly and asked how I was doing before diving straight into the coding question on a Google Doc. The first problem she gave was based on Kadane’s Algorithm. I initially solved it using a brute-force approach and then successfully optimized it. After that, she introduced a follow-up question that extended the first one. For this second problem, I was able to provide a brute-force solution, but I struggled to optimize it. After 10-12 days of waiting, I received a rejection email. While the outcome wasn’t what I had hoped for, the experience was valuable, and I learned a lot from it. and atlast i want to tell you that i am a boy!! hehe
