Experience:

The candidate, from a Tier 2 B.E. college, interviewed on-campus for the BTSA role in August 2023. The process involved a total of 4 rounds.

Round 1 (Online Assessment): This assessment consisted of 59 questions across 6 sections, to be completed in 52 minutes.

• Section 1: Reasoning Ability (25 Questions | 5 min): This section was described as the easiest but challenging due to the strict time limit. Questions covered series, alphabetic patterns, mirror images, and overlapping images. There was no negative marking.
• Section 2: Analytical Ability and Problem Solving (8 Questions | 8 min): Questions were based on directions, encoding/decoding, blood relations, and Venn Diagrams.
• Section 3: Unstructured Problem Solving (2 Questions | 14 min): This was considered the toughest section of the entire assessment. It involved guessing a number within a range based on 12-15 data points provided in a case study.
• Section 4: Numerical Ability (8 Questions | 8 min): Questions focused on Probability, Permutation, Sets, Profit/Loss, and Simple and Compound Interest.
• Section 5: Critical Thinking (8 Questions | 12 min): This section required inferring insights from given options after reading paragraphs.
• Section 6: Verbal Ability (8 Questions | 5 min): Questions included Tenses, Fill in the blanks, jumbled sentences, error identification, and paragraph rephrasing.

Round 2 (Online Assessment - Verbal Assessment): This round assessed communication skills.

• Section 1: Candidates had to read and record multiple statements/audio clips, some of which were 16 seconds long, with clips playable only once.
• Section 2: A topic was given on the spot, with 1 minute 45 seconds to think and then 60 seconds to speak on it.
• Section 3: A paragraph was played once, followed by MCQs and fill-in-the-blanks based on its content.
• Section 4: The final section required writing a short paragraph/essay (200 words).

Round 3 (Technical + SQL Coding): This was a major eliminatory round, with only about 25% of candidates advancing. It had no time limit on individual sections but a total of 60 minutes for all three sections.

• Section 1 (SQL MCQs): Questions involved basic query debugging based on DROP, SELECT, GROUP BY, Aggregate, and Window Functions.
• Section 2 (Programming): There was only 1 coding question, described as LeetCode Easy-Medium difficulty. Only Java and Python were available as programming language options.
• Section 3 (Writing SQL query): Two SQL queries were required, mostly involving JOINS, Pattern Matching, and GROUP BY clauses.

Round 4 (Managerial Interview): This round was scheduled with a BTS manager, with a 1-hour gap after the third round. Questions revolved around Guesstimates, SQL, Hackathon experiences and problems solved during them, and project details (specifically database aspects). Previous internship experience was also discussed. The interview included managerial questions, assessing the candidate's understanding of the BTSA role, situation-based questions, team-based questions, and how to handle and solve event-related problems. There were no direct questions on Data Structures and Algorithms.

The candidate was selected for the BTSA role.
