Rounds: 3 rounds (Aptitude Test + Virtual Technical Interview + Offline Technical Interview + Offline HR Round)
Topics Asked: Projects, Data Structures, Algorithms, OOPS, SQL, System Design, HR questions.
The process began with an Aptitude Test on the SHL platform, divided into four sections: English/Verbal, Business/Data Interpretation, Coding, and a special Wells Fargo Fitness Section. The coding section included two problems: removing vowels from a string and counting non-alphanumeric/non-numeric errors in a string. The Wells Fargo Fitness section involved a logical reasoning puzzle, which was also a coding question. Out of 84 students, 15 were shortlisted for interviews.
Round 1: Virtual Technical Interview (1 hour 15 minutes)
The interviewer started by discussing the candidate's TCS internship project for about 10-15 minutes, focusing on technologies used and challenges faced. The discussion then shifted to Data Structures and Algorithms. The candidate was asked to explain and code three problems:
For each problem, both brute-force and optimized solutions were provided. Theoretical questions included "What is SQL injection?" and "Why is Object-Oriented Programming important?". This round was intense, requiring a strong grasp of both theoretical and practical knowledge. 16 students appeared for this round, and 8 were shortlisted for Round 2.
Round 2: Offline Technical Interview (30-40 minutes)
This round was more challenging. The interviewer discussed Dijkstra's Algorithm and Breadth-First Search (BFS), asking for explanations of their applications and implementation. The focus then moved to the candidate's Metro Project, with suggestions for potential improvements and questions on how to implement them. Further discussions involved the candidate's TCS internship project, its problem statement, and implemented solutions. Soft skills like teamwork, communication, and adaptability were also discussed. Other questions included how the candidate researches companies for investment, parameters analyzed, highest-cost stock purchase, and an explanation for a slight drop in academic grades. The interviewer also asked about TCS's revenue sources and what the candidate would do if offered a Pre-Placement Offer (PPO) by TCS. This round was rigorous with many cross-questions. 8 students appeared, and 4 were shortlisted for the HR Round.
Round 3: Offline HR Round (20-25 minutes)
This final round was relatively relaxed. Questions covered family background, greatest achievement, how professors would describe the candidate, strengths aligning with the role, location preferences, and State CET rank/score. The candidate also reiterated reasons for wanting to join Wells Fargo.
Tips: Have a deep understanding of all projects mentioned on the resume. Stay calm and confident, and seek support during challenging times. Maintain a positive attitude and persevere.
