This candidate interviewed for a Summer Intern position through on-campus hiring at Warner Bros. Discovery, which involved four rounds.
Round 1 (Online Assessment): This round consisted of 25 questions. Five questions required video responses covering general topics like self-introduction, motivation for joining, favorite show, potential contributions, and familiar technologies. The remaining 20 questions were multiple-choice, focusing on Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA), Database Management Systems (DBMS), and Operating Systems (OS).
Round 2 (Technical Round): The interview began with "Tell us about yourself." Two interviewers were present. The main technical question was related to designing a recommendation system for shows on an OTT platform, specifically how to recommend shows with very little time and good space complexity. The discussion also involved caching concepts, memory utilization, and database choices for this problem. The candidate was able to answer effectively.
Round 3 (Technical and Managerial Round): This round started with the manager asking about the candidate and then discussing Round 2 questions, aiming for a more efficient solution. Following this, the discussion moved to the candidate's projects and their approach to completing them.
Round 4 (People and Culture Round): This round focused on understanding the candidate's personality and work approach. Questions included: "Tell about one of your favorite projects, how did you manage to complete it. Did you go for teamwork? Have you been a leader?" The interviewer also inquired about location preferences.
Result: The candidate received a job offer the day after the interviews.
