This interview experience was for an on-campus Software Engineer (Analyst) Internship in 2021. The eligibility criteria included a CGPA of 6.0 and above with no standing arrears.
Round 1 (Online Test): Approximately 900 candidates were shortlisted for this round across all roles, conducted on the elitmus platform. This round included MCQ questions primarily focused on TREE data structures, with multiple questions on traversals and AVL TREE insertions and deletions. Another section focused entirely on SQL queries, syntaxes, aggregate functions, and DBMS concepts.
Round 2 (Technical Round): Around 150 students for the software profile were shortlisted. This round lasted about 60-65 minutes and was conducted by two interviewers on Cisco Webex. It began with an introduction, followed by two DSA problems that the candidate had to code by sharing their screen. The specific problems were not detailed but involved basic algorithm design and reasoning.
Round 3 (HR Round): This was a 15-minute telephonic conversation. The HR asked general questions about hobbies, tech stack, comfortable programming language, availability for relocation, and previous internship experience. The candidate also had the opportunity to ask questions about life at BlackRock and the HR's experience.
Results were announced the next day via email from the college, and the candidate was selected for the internship.
