This was an on-campus interview experience for Western Union, comprising three rounds.
Round 1: Online Test
The online test had 59 questions (58 MCQs and 1 coding question) to be solved in 90 minutes. It consisted of 30 aptitude questions and 28 computer science concepts questions, which were somewhat challenging. The coding question was based on dynamic programming, involving a game where N players pass a ball, and a player K1 can pass to K2 if K1 divides K2 or K2 divides K1. The task was to find the number of ways the ball ends up with the starting player within a maximum of X moves.
Round 2: Technical Interview
This round lasted 30-40 minutes. Questions were based on the candidate's projects. SQL queries were asked, including "what is foreign key?". Computer Networks questions focused on the OSI model. OOPs concepts were covered, specifically "why multiple inheritance is not allowed in Java?" and the differentiation between method overloading and method overriding. A coding question on patterns and one puzzle question were also part of this round.
Round 3: HR Interview
This round lasted 15-20 minutes. Questions included "Tell me about yourself," "Tell about your family background," "Why do you want to join Western Union?", "What work Western Union do?", questions about hobbies, situational questions about teamwork in project groups, and "Where do you see yourself in the next 3 to 5 years?".
Tips: The candidate emphasized being very clear on Computer Fundamentals Questions, avoiding lies on the resume, and giving answers with much confidence.
