The process began with an HR call for a Computer Scientist 1 role, outlining an expectation of 4-5 technical rounds, including interactions with a Manager and a Director.
Round 1: DSA + C++ Fundamentals: The interview started with classic C++ theory questions, such as the difference between a pointer and a reference, what a stack overflow is, and if it can happen without recursion, and what heap memory is. DSA problems included "House Robber – Leetcode" and a string-to-integer conversion problem with edge-case handling (ignoring spaces, digit-only validation, overflow handling). The candidate solved both problems. A surprising request was to show recent Chrome search history.
Round 2: A Masterclass in Mismanagement: This round was rescheduled four times due to various reasons. When it finally occurred, it began with a quick experience chat, followed by two DSA problems: "Count of Smaller Numbers After Self" (solved via stack) and another problem where the interviewer insisted on a stack-based solution despite the candidate explaining multiple approaches.
