This interview process for an FTE Software Engineer role at Udaan consisted of four rounds.
Round 1: Coding Round
This round was conducted on the HackerEarth platform and involved solving 1 coding question within 2 hours. The question was related to a Calendar and required implementing four different functionalities. Out of 14 test cases, the candidate's code passed 11. A total of 558 students participated, and 22 were selected for the next round.
Round 2: Interview 1 (Case Study-based Interview)
This round lasted for 40 minutes and was a case study-based interview. The interviewer presented a case study, such as the expansion of OLA/Uber/Zomato into a new city, and asked the candidate to discuss solutions, for example, how to identify good drivers for the expansion. The discussion was bidirectional, focusing on problem-solving and solution identification.
Round 3: Interview 2 (Project-based Interview)
This was the second and final interview round, lasting 30 minutes, and focused on projects mentioned in the candidate's resume. The interviewer asked the candidate to explain a chosen project, followed by counter-questions. The discussion continued until the interviewer was satisfied. Tips for this round included understanding the challenges faced during project building, learnings, and motivation behind the projects.
Verdict/Result: One student was selected after these rounds.
