The selection process for the Associate Product Manager Intern role at Battery Smart involved three rounds. The first round was an online test that covered quantitative aptitude, data interpretation, and logical reasoning.
Candidates shortlisted from the online test proceeded to a group discussion round. Those who cleared the GD round then appeared for the final interview round. All rounds, except the online test, were conducted offline and in person.
For the final interview round, candidates targeting product roles were asked product cases. These cases could involve identifying the root cause of a problem and proposing a solution, designing a new product, or improving an existing product. Interviewers also asked candidates to define success metrics to track product performance. Guesstimates and puzzles were also part of this round. The candidate mentioned referring to frameworks for RCA (Root Cause Analysis) and product improvement/design from YouTube channels like PM Diego Granados and Technomanagers.
Past work experiences in product profiles were highlighted as a significant advantage, and candidates were extensively questioned about their previous internships and projects. The candidate had prior internship experience in product management at Delhivery, Yes Madam, and IIM Calcutta, and also participated in various case study competitions.
