The recruitment process consisted of 4 rounds, starting with resume shortlisting.
Online Assessment Round: This round was held on July 21, 2023, and included MCQs and coding questions. The MCQs covered C, C++, Java, Operating Systems, and Computer Networks concepts. The coding section had 3 questions: "Sort and find the middle element", "Fibonacci with a twist", and "Replacements and anagrams". Although the questions seemed easy, they had edge cases that no candidate was able to clear completely. Only 6 students were shortlisted for the subsequent rounds based on the assessment results.
Round 1: Technical Interview: Held virtually on July 27, 2023. The interviewer began with an introduction and then moved to detailed discussions about the candidate's projects. Emphasis was placed on a blockchain project, leading to questions ranging from basic to advanced blockchain concepts. The interviewer also asked questions on OOP, Java, OS, and Computer Networks. Data Structures and Algorithms questions covered trees, arrays, linked lists, and strings. The round concluded with a puzzle. The difficulty level for this round was easy to moderate.
Round 2: Technical Interview: This round took place on the same day as Round 1. The topics were similar to Round 1, but the complexity was significantly higher than expected. Questions again started from blockchain, progressing to cybersecurity, followed by OOP, Java, OS, Computer Networks, and DSA. This round tested in-depth understanding of the topics, with more emphasis on Java, OS, CN, and projects. The difficulty level was moderate to very difficult.
HR Interview: Conducted on July 31, 2023. Questions were primarily focused on company knowledge, understanding of the corporate world, and discussions about the role and life at Versa. The final result was declared on August 1, 2023, and the candidate was selected. The candidate found the rounds challenging but a confidence booster. A tip provided was to always ask for feedback after the interview to show openness to improvements.
