This interview experience was part of an on-campus recruitment drive for a Software Developer role through a performance-based PPO process. The eligibility criteria included B.Tech in CSE, ECE, or DS with a CGPA of 7.0 or above, and minimum 70% in 10th and 12th grades with no active backlogs. The recruitment process had four stages: an Online Assessment, two Technical Interviews, and a Manager + HR round.
Round 1: Online Assessment
The online assessment consisted of 20 questions: 19 MCQs and 1 coding question. The MCQs covered Data Structures, SQL, OOPs, Time Complexities, and code outputs in C, C++, Python, and Java. The coding question was of easy to medium difficulty, similar to "finding the maximum greatness of an array." A pre-placement talk by the hiring manager was conducted before the offline interviews, and about 30 candidates were shortlisted.
Round 2: Technical Interview 1
The interviewer started with a brief introduction from the candidate. They then reviewed the resume, focusing on projects. One project was discussed in detail. Questions were asked about React hooks, props, useState, and general CSS. Core OOPs concepts like runtime polymorphism and its implementation were also covered.
Round 3: Technical Interview 2
This round had a different interviewer. After introductions, the candidate was asked to sort an array of 0s, 1s, and 2s, explaining both brute force and optimal approaches, and then writing pseudocode for the optimal solution. SQL queries to find the 2nd highest and then the nth highest salaried employee were also asked.
Round 4: Manager + HR Round
This final round was conducted by a panel of two interviewers. They inquired about the candidate's knowledge of UKG, including if they attended the PPT. Projects from the resume were again discussed in detail. Standard HR questions were asked, such as strengths, weaknesses, and how to handle a non-cooperative teammate.
