This was a pre-placement interview opportunity offered after an internship at Tally Solutions, which itself was secured through the Tally Codebrewers 2023 hackathon. The interview process consisted of a single technical interview conducted online via Microsoft Teams, lasting about one hour.
Technical Round: The interview began with an introduction and a discussion about the candidate's internship experience. The interviewer then asked the candidate to share their screen and presented a coding problem. This was a medium-hard level question based on Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA), similar to problems found on LeetCode.
The candidate first clarified the problem, then discussed an initial approach and performed dry runs. After reviewing the approach, the interviewer pointed out an overlooked detail, which the candidate corrected. The revised solution was then explained with additional examples, and the candidate was asked to implement it using a compiler in a language of their choice.
Following the coding problem, another medium difficulty DSA question was asked. The candidate explained the approach in detail but was not required to write the code. The round concluded with a puzzle, similar to those found on GeeksforGeeks, where the candidate explained both a simple and an optimized solution.
Tips for preparation included revising core fundamentals, practicing SQL queries, and thoroughly reviewing resume projects and technologies.
