Experience:

The candidate applied for the Application Developer consultant role via HackerEarth and joined Thoughtworks in June 2022. The recruitment process consisted of four rounds.

Round 1: Online Assessments
This round was conducted on the HackerEarth platform and included 2 coding questions and 10 MCQs. The MCQs covered topics like Linux, networking, and guessing code snippet outputs. The candidate solved 5 test cases in each program. A few days later, another online test was conducted on HackerRank with 2 medium-level coding questions, both of which the candidate solved completely.

Round 2: Code Pairing
This round lasted about 1 hour 45 minutes and involved solving a problem statement using OOPs concepts. Two Thoughtworkers were present and guided the candidate. After achieving a working solution with passing test cases, the candidate was asked to code with additional ideas suggested by the interviewers. The focus was on OOPs concepts and collaborative coding, which is a strong belief at Thoughtworks.

Round 3: Technical Interview
This round lasted a little over an hour with two Thoughtworkers. It started with introductions, followed by discussions on internship experiences and the technology stack the candidate had worked on. Questions were asked on SQL queries, database systems, and OOPs concepts. The candidate was given a "library management system" as a design topic and asked to relate it to real-world scenarios, with interviewers focusing more on conceptual understanding than syntax. A coding question related to maps was also given, and the candidate explained the algorithm.

Round 4: Social Change and Leadership
This round, also with two Thoughtworkers, focused on the candidate's perspective on social events and how they, as a social being, would respond. It was described as more of a conversation about society with no right or wrong answers. This round lasted up to 1 hour.

After 2-3 days, the candidate received a call from the recruiter confirming their selection.
