Siemens PLM visited the college in August 2022, conducting the entire process virtually. The first round was an Online Test (Aptitude) which had a medium difficulty. It consisted of 29 MCQ questions on quantitative aptitude, logical reasoning, and C/C++ language, with coding questions being a bit difficult. The duration was 1.5 hours with no sectional time limit. 17 students were shortlisted for interviews.
Round 2: Technical Round 1
This round began with a self-introduction. The interviewer then delved into a Machine Learning project, asking detailed cross-questions. The candidate's preferred language, C++, led to questions on OOPS features (encapsulation, inheritance, polymorphism, abstraction) and practical applications. Coding questions included writing a program for function overloading (one with int, one with double parameters), a code to find the number of times 5 can be subtracted from a number (e.g., 35), and a program to find the kth largest element in an array. There were also questions on C++ compilation and a few puzzles.
Round 3: Technical Round 2
The interviewers were friendly, starting with introductions and asking about C++ study resources. An internship project was discussed for 10-15 minutes. Questions then moved to run-time polymorphism, requiring an explanation and code implementation, followed by in-depth questions on function overriding and the difference between encapsulation and abstraction. A puzzle related to a 12-hour clock (and a 48-hour variation) was also posed. This round lasted about 30 minutes, and 3 students were selected for the HR round.
Round 4: HR Round
This was a relaxed round with common HR questions such as "Tell me something not on your resume," "Why Siemens?", "Tell me about your family background," "How were your previous interview rounds? Give two adjectives for them," "Being a student, what will you bring to the table?", and "Are you comfortable with relocation?".
