After passing the Online Assessment (OA) for the Graduate Software Developer C++ role, the candidate had a 1-hour technical interview.
The interview began with introductions, followed by 15-20 minutes of questions about the candidate's previous work experience. The next 10-15 minutes were dedicated to C++ specific questions, focusing on pointers, Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), and polymorphism, with a decent amount of discussion on virtual functions.
The last 30 minutes of the interview involved a coding part, where a "pretty straightforward" question was given. The candidate finished coding in 15 minutes, including explanations. They also wrote a couple of edge case tests and discussed how they would change the code if asked to implement something similar in a production environment. The interview concluded with the candidate asking questions, ending a few minutes short of the hour.
