The internship selection process at Axxela involved three test rounds followed by a single online interview.
Round 1: Speed Math Test
This round focused on quick mental calculations to assess speed and accuracy.
Round 2: Aptitude Test
This test was described as similar to the Quantitative Ability (QA) section of the CAT exam.
Round 3: Trading Game
Candidates were split into groups and participated in a simulated market trading game. The core principle was "buy low, sell high" to maximize profit. The candidate noted that cheating was not advisable as strategies were grilled during the interview.
Round 4: Online Interview
Approximately 50 students were shortlisted for this round. The interview assessed brains, logic, and motivation. Questions included puzzles, more speed math, and tough behavioral questions such as: "Why trading?", "Any prior experience in trading?", "What's your take on the IT market rallying currently?", and "What would you do if I give you 10 lakh rupees right now?". The advice was to be real, logical, and prepared for these questions, as HR questions evaluate the candidate's fit and seriousness about a trading career.
