Experience:

The selection process for the Trainee Analyst role at Axxela comprised four rounds. The HR and technical interviews were combined due to time constraints.

Round 1: Computer-Based Test (Mental Math)
This round involved solving 35 mental math problems in 5 minutes. Questions included 2x2 multiplications, divisions, and basic math with decimals.

Round 2: Computer-Based Test (Aptitude)
This round had two sections. The first section consisted of 35 logical reasoning, quantitative aptitude, and data interpretation problems to be solved in 6 minutes. The second section had 25 aptitude questions on quantitative and logical reasoning, with 30 minutes allotted.

Round 3: Trading Round
20 shortlisted candidates were divided into two groups. They were asked to predict and trade on the sum of the digits of a currency note over six sub-rounds. The company mainly looked for strategies, logic, and profit maximization skills.

Round 4: Technical & HR Interview
Seven candidates were shortlisted for this round, taken by the company's manager. It began with basic questions about the candidate's resume, work experience, and college projects. Questions were asked about the motivation to change career from civil engineering to finance and trading. Technical finance questions included topics like the stock market, Sensex, Nifty, their current values, and differences. Given the candidate's prior finance courses, specific questions on those topics were also asked. Additionally, a guesstimate problem ("estimate the total number of grey colored Honda city cars in your city") and some puzzles were part of this round.
