Difficulty: Knowledge round SQL questions were difficult.
Rounds: 3 rounds (Online Screening, Knowledge Round, Managerial Round) after initial recruiter contact.
Topics Asked: Machine Learning, Data Analytics, SQL, Tableau, OOPs (Python), Computer Vision, Natural Language Processing, Research/Mathematics, Company/Role interest, Values, Principles, Work Culture, Situational questions, Responsibilities, Time Management.
The candidate was contacted by a Scaler recruiter in July 2024 regarding a Machine Learning Intern opening.
Online Screening Round (180 minutes): This round was attempted in August 2024 and consisted of three machine coding questions (one SQL query, one Tableau visualization/procedures, one OOPs concept in Python) and 22 multiple-choice questions on Machine Learning and Data Analytics.
Knowledge Round: The interviewer asked the candidate to introduce themselves and then posed various questions to gauge their interest in the company and the specific role. This was followed by detailed questions on Computer Vision and Natural Language Processing, including their underlying research and mathematics. Subsequently, three SQL questions were presented in a Google sheet, which the candidate had to code in an online IDE. The candidate successfully solved two out of the three SQL questions, finding the third one challenging due to its difficulty and lack of advanced SQL practice.
Managerial Round (45 minutes): Approximately two weeks after the Knowledge Round, a different HR representative scheduled the final managerial round. The first 25 minutes focused on the candidate's values, principles, and suitability for Scaler's work culture, including situational questions about workplace differences, daily challenges, and work-life balance. The remaining 20 minutes involved a discussion with the prospective manager about the expected responsibilities and time management for the role.
Result: An offer letter was extended after the completion of this round.
