The interview process for the Trainee Engineer role was well-structured and comprised three rounds.
Round 1: Online Assessment
This stage was a 90-minute online assessment with two coding questions.
Round 2: Technical Interview
This round started with a brief introduction, then quickly moved to DSA questions. Key questions involved a problem based on Tries and Hash Maps, where the candidate had to explain their thought process. Follow-up questions included Priority Queues and their applications. OOP concepts were tested with a Library Management System question, and discussions around Java's Multiple Inheritance and the Diamond Problem. Topics like Threads vs. Processes and Operating Systems were also covered. The candidate felt confident about their performance, and after 10-12 days, received news of clearing this round, with only 6 out of 12 candidates advancing.
Round 3: Core Values Round (HR Round)
This round was entirely HR-driven, focusing on situational and behavioral questions to assess alignment with Publicis Sapient's core values. Questions included: "How do you handle conflicts in a team?", "What is your decision-making process?", "What role does a leader play in a team?", "How would you react if a teammate weren't responding to you properly?", "Have you made any mistakes in your work? How did you handle them?", "How do you upskill yourself? Any recent certifications?", and "How would you deal with a senior colleague who has an ego issue and refuses to collaborate?".
