An off-campus interview experience for Practo in February 2025 involved two rounds. Round 1 was a Coding Round hosted on HackerRank, lasting 2 hours with six questions. The questions were of a high difficulty level, consisting of three Dynamic Programming (DP) and three Adhoc problems. The candidate solved two questions completely and two partially to clear this round. Round 2, a Skype Interview, was divided into three parts. The first part was a coding question: "Given a string, calculate the number of distinct palindromic substrings." The candidate cleared 6 out of 9 test cases in 20-25 minutes. The second part involved discussing a project from the candidate's resume, specifically "Sentiment Analysis," and its connection to Practo's work, including algorithms and technologies used. The final part was a design question: designing a database schema for an ongoing cricket world cup, capable of answering various match-related queries (e.g., bowler wickets, batsman runs, no-balls, ball-by-ball updates). The interviewer suggested taking ideas from how espncricinfo displays match summaries. The candidate received a selection email, and the entire process took 20 days.
