Experience:

The interview process for a Software Development Engineer Intern at Practo in November 2020 consisted of three rounds. The first round was a HackerRank coding assessment with three problems: one easy (array) and two medium problems (Linked List and Strings). Additionally, there was one DBMS problem requiring the writing of a schema for a given question. The second round, Technical Round 1, involved scenario-based questions related to the Practo app, HTTP requests, REST API, and a few database questions. A live coding question was also part of this round, which was "Backspace String Comparison" (a LeetCode problem). The candidate initially provided a brute-force solution, then optimized it using a stack. Following this, a system design question was posed: designing a Flight Database for MakeMyTrip. Technical Round 2 was conducted by a senior software developer and focused entirely on design questions, including one about checking for overlapping rectangles drawn on a screen. The candidate was ultimately selected for the internship.
