AVEVA visited the campus for graduate hiring for their Hyderabad office. The selection process spanned 2 days and consisted of 5 rounds. Candidates with an aggregate of more than 70% throughout their academics were shortlisted.
Round 1: Aptitude Test
This round had an easy to moderate difficulty level, primarily focusing on Quantitative Aptitude and Verbal Ability. The duration was 1 hour.
Round 2: Group Discussion (GD)
The GD topic was "Privatization in Government" and lasted for about half an hour. The candidate spoke in favor of the topic.
Round 3: Technical Interview I
The recruiter thoroughly reviewed the candidate's CV and asked general questions such as "Why did you choose UPES?" and "Why do you want to join AVEVA?". Following an internship project discussion, questions were asked about the technologies used and reasons behind their selection. Data Structures questions included: "Consider a case where you have been given a a queue and you need to convert it to stack. How will you do it?", followed by writing and explaining a C program for the problem. A slight modification involved creating a Stack using two queues. "What is Recursion? Explain in detail using an example." was also asked.
Round 4: Technical Interview II
This round delved deeper into technical skills mentioned in the CV, covering SQL, DBMS, Operating Systems, and Java. Questions included: "Tell me something about yourself?", "Tell me one disadvantage of Java.", "Tell me one advantage of JVM.", "What is Left join in SQL.", "Difference between DBMS & RDBMS.", "Is MS Excel an RDBMS? What about MySQL?", "What is multi-threading?", and "What is Synchronization?".
Round 5: HR Interview
General HR questions were posed, such as "Introduce yourself.", "What makes you come to AVEVA?", "What have been your biggest achievement in life so far.", "Tell me about your family.", and "Job location is Hyderabad, are you comfortable to relocate?".
The final results were announced within 2 weeks, with 9 out of 250+ candidates being selected, including the interviewee.
