Experience:

This interview experience was shared by Bhavya P, a final year student at VIIT Chennai, who secured an on-campus placement at RingCentral. The eligibility criteria included students from Computer Science and EC branches with an 85% or 8.5 CGPA in 10th and 12th, and an 80% or 8.0 CGPA in their pursuing degree, with no standing arrears.

The placement process consisted of one online assessment and two interview rounds.

Online Assessment:

The online assessment was conducted in a lab and comprised seven questions. Five were easy DS-based MCQs, and two were programming questions. The programming questions were LeetCode medium to hard level and involved DP, Graphs, Trees, or Graph + DP combinations.

After the first round, approximately 22 people were shortlisted for the technical interviews.

Technical Interview 1:

This round was completely technical and lasted about 50 minutes for each student. It began with the candidate's introduction, followed by the interviewer's introduction.

The problem-solving section included a LeetCode medium-level problem. Following that, the interviewer asked questions about OOPs and DBMS. Since the candidate used MongoDB for their project, questions were asked about "why MongoDB and why not a SQL database." Questions also covered AWS, as mentioned in the resume. Technical questions were primarily centered around the candidate's projects, the technologies used, and details mentioned in the resume, indicating a strong focus on resume content.

Technical Interview 2 (Technical + HR):

After the first technical interview, 10 people advanced to this combined technical and HR interview. The interviewer initially gave the candidate a choice to select any one of their three projects from the resume and provide a brief architectural diagram. The candidate had to explain the flow of the project, from front-end request to back-end and database interactions.

After the project discussion, the interviewer asked about OOPs, covering everything from the four pillars to advanced concepts. Questions on computer networks, and how they were implemented in the candidate's project, were also asked. Finally, some behavioral questions were posed, such as "What do you want to do after 10 years in the industry?" and "Why do you want to join RingCentral?".

Out of the 10 people in this round, four were selected. The candidate recommended preparing core computer science subjects from resources like GeeksforGeeks.
