Rounds: 3 rounds (Online Coding Assessment, Technical Interview, Behavioral Round)
Topics Asked: DSA (Leetcode medium/hard, easy/medium), Project discussion (workings, alternative approaches, tech stack, algorithm explanation), CS essentials (Kubernetes, REST APIs, micro-services, databases, unit testing), Behavioral questions (teamwork, problem-solving, learning and adapting to new technologies, cultural fit).
The interview process for this internship included both technical and behavioral components.
Round 1 was an Online Coding Assessment on HackerRank. It consisted of 2 questions, one at a Leetcode medium level and the other at a Leetcode hard level.
Round 2 was a Technical Interview conducted on Google Meet with two interviewers. The interview began with an introduction, where the candidate was encouraged to share information not present on their resume. A detailed discussion of the candidate's projects followed, with interviewers keen on understanding the project's workings, alternative approaches, technology stack, and algorithm explanations. Numerous questions covered core computer science concepts such as Kubernetes, REST APIs, micro-services, databases, and unit testing. Additionally, two easy to medium level DSA questions were asked. The interview concluded with an opportunity for the candidate to ask questions about the company.
Round 3 was a Behavioral Round. This round assessed the candidate's fit with Red Hat's culture and values. Questions explored experiences working in teams, problem-solving approaches, and the ability to learn and adapt to new technologies. Red Hat's emphasis on cooperation and innovation meant the candidate was expected to discuss teamwork experiences and creative problem-solving. The candidate received a selection call two hours after this interview, confirming their selection.
