Round 1: Technical Interview
This was a one-hour virtual interview conducted by two senior software engineers/leads. It started with an introduction and a self-rating of skills out of 5. The main problem involved creating a traffic signal component using React and Typescript, where lights toggle every 2 seconds. A follow-up requirement was that after every 6 seconds, there should be a 4-second wait before repeating the cycle, and clicking any light should start the toggling from that specific light. Other technical questions included Multitasking vs Multithreading, how threads communicate, Interface vs Classes, why objects cannot be created from Interfaces, Static IP vs Public IP, Views vs Stored Procedures (which is precompiled), Indexing in Databases, SQL vs NoSQL, and Node.js Middleware. AWS-related questions covered the type of EC2 instance created, CI/CD management, and IAM/SES/Storage management for EC2. A specific SQL update query was given: to correct genders in a student table where 'M' should be 'F' and 'F' should be 'M'. A behavioral question about past disagreements at work was also asked.
Overall Experience: The candidate answered almost 90% of the questions and was hoping to receive a call for the second round.
