This experience is for an SDE-1 (Intern + FTE) role for the 2023 batch from an IIT. The drive started with an online assessment. The candidate mentioned a "Worst Experience Ever" due to the offer being revoked after being selected.
Round 1 (Online Assessment ~1 hour): The assessment was conducted on the Intervue.io platform and included 2 coding questions and 16 MCQs. The difficulty was Easy to Medium.
Round 2 (Technical Interview - 1.5 hours): This round was conducted by someone from the Barraiser Team, collaborating with Park+. It started with an introduction and discussion about projects. The interviewer then shared a Codejudge online compiler link and a question. The first problem was the "2048 game". Discussion revolved around the problem statement, and understanding it took some time. The interviewer then asked to optimize the approach. The candidate mapped it to the "inversion count problem" (merge sort approach) and explained and coded the solution. During this, questions on RDBMS, Primary Key, and writing SQL table creation syntax were asked. After this, HR-related questions were also asked. The interviewer gave good feedback.
Another part of the technical interview involved a question about Sudoku. After explaining the approach, the candidate wrote the code and explained its complexity. Another problem was given, and upon suggesting a BFS approach, the interviewer agreed and asked for the code, which was written and explained along with complexities.
Result: The candidate was selected in September 2023 but the offer was revoked in July 2024, after the placement season was over, leaving the candidate without an offer.
